Grandma's Kitchen was started in 1987 by owner Nancy Sweeney as a tribute to a long standing family tradition , started by her maternal grandmother .
Grandma was a wonderful cook ( as most grandma's are ) and every sunday , along with the traditional pasta , homemade gravy ( well you get the picture ... grandma was italian ya know ! ) she would also make gelato (italian for ice cream). Nancy has many a childhood memory of helping grandma in the kitchen , always dreaming of one day becoming the kind of cook grandma was and making people happy with the resulsts , as grandma always did. Well her dream finally came true in 1987 , as the doors of Grandma's Kitchen opened (the store is actuall built in what used to be grandma's actual kitchen and dining area , maybe that's part of the magic !) and happiness has been made ever since !
